Girls in Gear: Volunteer coaches wanted for the fall season (Greater Boston)
Girls in Gear is looking for new volunteer coaches for its fall season in Greater Boston. Coaches run weekly 90-minute sessions over an 8-week season that teach bike skills and confidence to girls ages 5 to 10 (Pedal Power) and 8 and up (Club GiG). No bike or cycling expertise needed; safety and curriculum training is included. Open sites this fall: Bikes Not Bombs, Jamaica Plain (Fridays 4:30 to 6 pm from Sep 25; Club GiG Saturdays at noon); Smith Playground, Allston (Saturdays noon to 1:30 pm from Sep 26); Ferryway School, Malden (Saturdays noon to 1:30 pm from Sep 26); Arsenal Park, Watertown (Sundays noon to 1:30 pm from Sep 27); plus school-only sites in Chestnut Hill and Dedham.
