Beginners’ Hike with Bruce

Join Bruce for a relaxing and scenic beginners' hike through the beautiful Blue Hills Reservation. This hiking event is perfect for those new to hiking, offering a gentle pace suitable for novices. The hike covers a variety of terrain, including some gravel and rocky paths, allowing you to experience the diverse natural habitats of the Blue Hills without the challenge of a strenuous hike. Don’t miss out on this chance to enjoy a peaceful morning in nature.

What to Bring:

•  Water: Staying hydrated is crucial, so please bring plenty of water.

•  Snacks: Pack some light snacks to keep your energy up.

•  Clothing: Wear moisture-wicking clothing to stay comfortable.

•  Commitment: Please do not sign up unless you are certain you can attend, as spaces are limited.

•  Pace and Duration: The hike is designed to be a leisurely walk, not a race. Expect to spend about 2 hours exploring the trails with plenty of time to appreciate the scenery.We look forward to seeing you on the trail!

This hike will begin at 840 Hillside St, Houghton’s Pond, by the playground.

Hikes are rain or shine.  We stay together and take a steady but patient pace.  We are patient with everyone and we will go the pace of the slowest hiker.  Stops may be frequent for water, pictures or any other reason.

Appropriate gear includes hiking boots, water, sunscreen and bug spray.

Stay together.  Look out for each other. Report issues to hike leader immediately.
