Walk/Ride Days were kicked off in Newton Massachusetts on February 27, 2009. A local high school student worked to bring Walk/Ride Days to Newton schools and the message spread to the whole city.
The momentum carried through to the next month as well. For the March Walk/Ride Day the Mayor gave out Green Apples that had been donated, and also organized a Walk for City Employees. You can find more information on Walk/Ride Day activities in Newton at the Activate Newton web site.
