P1010028 As an individual:

If you just want to participate in Walk/Ride Days, all you have to do is go green and wear green on the last Friday of every month. In doing so you will help create a city-wide party that celebrates alternative transportation options, healthy living, and community connections.  As a participant you are also eligible for the incentives offered by retail sponsors around the Boston area.  ANYONE can enter into our on-line raffle to win a prize.

Just check-in on Walk/Ride Day to enter our on-line raffle.

For a list of upcoming Walk/Ride Days see the calendar on this webpage. For lists of retail sponsors see the lists by neighborhood to the right.  If you have other questions visit the rest of our website, our FAQ section, or just e-mail us at: walk-ride-days@comcast.net

As a Coordinator:P10100321

The primary way we get the word out about our efforts, is through coordinators.  Coordinators are community members around the area who want to promote Walk/Ride Day.

This is where you come in.  We need Green Streets Walk/Ride Day Coordinators in businesses, retail stores, organizations, universities, schools, dorms, anywhere and everywhere around the Boston area.  If you are outside of the Boston area, in another state, or country we would love to have you as a coordinator too! Please visit our Start Green Streets in Your Own Community Page.

As a coordinator it is your job to

  • Remind people about Walk/Ride Days before they happen
  • Organize an internal incentive (from hand stamps for little ones to getting out of work fifteen minutes early for the older ones)
  • Let us know how it went by filling out occasional surveys, which we provide.

For more detailed information about becoming a coordinator in a business, organization, institution or otherwise, visit our For Business Coordinator's page.

OR

For more information about becoming a school or university coordinator visit our For School Coordinator's page.

As a Retail Sponsor:

Greenward If you are a business owner, or employee, who wants to make your establishment more "green," becoming a retail sponsor for Walk/Ride Days, is a great way to start.

And it's easy.  In brief, you choose some kind of an incentive to offer people who go and wear green on Walk/Ride Day (the Last Friday of Every Month).  In return you get: to help create a city-wide party, to build community, and great publicity!  For details visit our For Retail Sponsor's Page.

As a Volunteer: Honk_festival_parade_12

At Green Streets almost all of us are volunteers. We are always looking for help with: updating our marketing materials, staying on top of our website, graphic design, fund-raising, you name it!

If you are interested in volunteering with us beyond the coordinator role please get in touch by emailing Janie Katz-Christy at walk-ride-days@comcast.net or by completing the following Volunteer Sign Up Form.

As A Donor

If you are an organization, or individual, who would like to help us in our efforts by donating funds, larger raffle items, or otherwise, please contact Janie Katz-Christy at walk-ride-days@comcast.net
